Who We Are

Art & Texture is comprised of two WestClay Studios - a finish studio specializing in wall and furniture finishing and a Consignment Studio specializing in furniture and home consignment. 

Lead artist and founder, Mark A. Roger, had a successful 20 year career as a business consultant, adjunct professor, author and national civic leader. With a lifelong passion for decorative arts, architectural design, and furniture refinishing, he set out to become a full-time decorative refinisher. Mark apprenticed for award winning, Indiana artist Pati Sparks and opened his first studio in downtown Indianapolis, IN.

In 2005, the Art & Texture "Finish Studio @ WestClay" was opened in the heart of the historically inspired Village of WestClay. The idea was to provide a working artist forum where clients and trade professionals could view samples, projects in progress and completed works. We are constantly expanding our portfolio of decorative finishes with a focus on durability, practicality and esthetics. While we have worked with some of the largest designers and builders throughout the Midwest, our specialty artists focus on one project at a time. Crews seldom exceed 3 or 4 artisans which allows us to maintain a more consistent quality.

In 2011, as a compliment to our furniture refinishing, our Consignment Studio - BACKROOM @ WestClay - was opened.  Furniture and home accessories can be purchased "as-is" or items can be refinished prior to delivery.  Clients may select a finish or have one created to provide a custom designer look at affordable prices.   

As testament to our attention to detail, our client referral program continues to be an overwhelming success. We are also quite proud of the enormous amount of repeat business received from passed clients and thank them for allowing us to be of service over the years.
